Every Image Matters- A Photographic Tribute

Photographs have the power to transport us to different places in time or to places we only dream of. Sharing images of how we see our world connects us with others, allowing us to imagine places we may never visit and people we may never meet.

I had the place to myself, and how often can you say that?” It was here that he took his Sunset Print Award-winning photo Golden Arches. “You’re not allowed to use tripods in this area, but around this bath was a wall, and so I set my camera there on a two-second delay and shot a couple of different angles,” he says. His image eloquently captures the eerie tranquility of the architecture, earning him this prestigious award. According to Mills, he got a late start in photography. “I was a business guy. I retired in 2009 from a major consumer goods company,” he says. “I was the neighborhood photographer. I always loved to capture expression and...

Tip of the Week: 3 Ways to Get into the Finishing Business

One quick way to increase your offerings to customers … and improve your bottom line … is to invest in print finishing equipment. We turned to Michael Clementi, who heads up LexJet’s Experience Center, to give us tips on how and when to expand your business. I want to add finishing services to my business. What are some good equipment investments? Laminator: Adding a laminator to your business will open up new avenues of revenue. You’ll be able to mount prints to metal, board, plexiglass or any rigid substrate that the model of laminator will allow (half-inch to 2-inch thick substrates). You’ll also be able to over-laminate prints for protection and create rollable panels for pop-up booths for tradeshows. Like any new machinery, there is a learning curve, therefore we recommend looking into onsite training from the original equipment manufacturer of whichever brand you choose.
