Introducing a New, Latex-Friendly Mesh Banner

For high-wind areas, creating a good-looking banner that can stand up to the elements and works well with your preferred printer technology can be a challenge. HEYtex Mesh w/ Liner solves all of those problems. This 360gsm polyester base with a 60/40 mesh pattern is particularly latex-friendly, performing better than other mesh banners on the market.

“With other products, you’ll get head strikes and the liner and mesh tend to separate when running them through a latex printer,” says product specialist Shaun Jaycox. “This product works really well with a liner that’s latex-compatible and won’t separate until you’re ready to hang it.”

HEYtex Mesh w/ Liner is also compatible with solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable printers, making it a versatile banner option for many print operations. It can be easily grommeted and hung — an ideal option for applications like outdoor banners, sporting events, construction sites and many more.

“This is a great, cost-effective solution that’ll save printers a few cents per foot and work more effectively with their latex technology,” Jaycox says.

Tip of the Week: The Trick to Banner Stand Success

When it comes to creating great-looking banner stands, LexJet product expert Jeff Leto tells us that the key is knowing the environment it will be used in.

If used outdoors, it’s essential to keep in mind the changes in temperatures throughout the day, he says. As temperatures rise and fall, banner stand materials can expand and contract, which can create unsightly, messing-looking curling.

Check out this week’s tip video above to learn the best types of banner stand materials that are compatible with latex printing technology. For instance, LexJet 8Mil PolyGloss is a dimensionally stable option that won’t expand or contract in the elements and produces excellent photo quality with a glossy finish.

Video: A Printable Vinyl that Doubles as a Dry Erase Board with HP Latex Inks

Over the past few months, Berea Printing‘s production manager, Phil Crawford, has put two print materials to the test, reviewed their performance, and disclosed the results through video (click on the links below to see the videos):

Using Dry Erase Markers on LexJet Simple Adhesive VinylThis time around, Crawford reveals a new find: LexJet Simple Adhesive Vinyl SUV – Gloss (5 Mil) can double as a dry-erase board when used with the HP Latex Printer and HP Latex Inks, based on his testing. In most cases to make a graphic dry-erasable, you need to use a special laminate on top of the print.

“We’ve had requests from customers who use dry-erase boards for presentations who would like to mark on top of presentation graphics and use dry-erase markers. We found that this vinyl with the HP Latex Inks works for that application,” says Crawford. “The HP Latex Ink will stick even if you use a little water to wipe off a ballpoint pen mark. It’s a nice item to offer because a lot of corporations, businesses and schools are looking for a dry-erase solution, so we should market it more.”
