About the Artist
Dennis Hammon, a true veteran in the photography world with nearly 50 years of experience. A native of Idaho, Dennis grew up on a small farm but always had a passion for exploring the world- thanks to National Geographic. With degrees in biology and geology, he found his true calling in photography and has dedicated his career to mastering the art and sharing his knowledge.
Dennis holds the Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA and was one of the first photographers in the country to become certified. His commitment to the industry is evident in his decades of service—spending over 35 years on the PPA Council, serving as an Affiliate Juror, and even leading as President of the American Society of Photographers (ASP), where he earned the prestigious Fellow of Photography distinction. His contributions have earned him four National Awards for service to the photographic industry.
Beyond his studio work and personal artistic projects, Dennis is passionate about teaching and mentoring photographers. He shares his expertise through speaking engagements, workshops, and immersive photography tours with his wife, Cheri. Together, they lead unforgettable adventures in Yellowstone, the Tetons, Europe, and Mexico, helping photographers capture the beauty of the world around them.
For Dennis, the world is his studio, and he thrives on traveling, creating, and inspiring others to do the same.
