64-Bit Support for Canon CS4 and CS5 Plug-Ins

Canon USA has released CS4 and CS5 plug-ins for its iPF6300 and iPF8300 printers. The new plug-ins support Mac and Windows 64-bit platforms, including Windows 7, XP and Vista and Mac OS X. The plug-ins allow you to bypass the typical printer-driver process and get right down to business so you can print quickly and confidently right out of Photoshop.

The plug-ins provide a more user-friendly visual interface for more control over color management and image placement on the media roll. And, instead of having to start up CS4 or CS5 in 32-bit to use the Canon plug-in, users can now start up immediately in 64-bit.

To download the plug-ins for the Canon iPF8300, click here and pick your operating system. For the iPF6300, click here.

  1. Will this plug-in also work for the Canon iPF 6100? The last time I talked to Canon they were working on this and it wasn’t clear if it would work only on the 6300 or also on the 6100 and 6200 models as well. Anyone have any insight on this?

  2. Terry,

The plug-in will not work for the iPF6100. Canon is working on the plug-in for the x100 series and we’ll post a link to it as soon as it’s up.

  3. Michael,
Are you sure Canon is working on this or has it perhaps completed this? If completed, where do I find the download link?
    Thanks.

    Terry,

The driver is available and can be found at this link.
