How to Apply LexJet Infinium to Plexiglass

Printing graphics for application to plexiglassAs mentioned in an earlier post, LexJet Infinium is a new inkjet-printable material that conforms to virtually any substrate to which you apply it. Infinium is not a paper, film or transfer medium but a material with adhesive, laminate and print receptive qualities built into it.

When properly applied, Infinium not only conforms to the material but takes on the texture and look of the material. It can be applied with heat, water or a primer (LexJet Infinium Bond), depending on how temporary or permanent the graphic needs to be.

The current generation of LexJet Infinium is compatible with solvent, low solvent, latex and UV curable printers and comes in gloss and matte finishes in roll widths ranging from 25″-54″. For more information about LexJet Infinium, contact a LexJet account specialist at 800-453-9538.

How to Apply LexJet Infinium with a Thermal Laminator

Inkjet printing leatherLexJet Infinium conforms to virtually any surface, taking on the characteristics of that surface when it’s properly applied. When applied to leather or canvas, for instance, Infinium essentially becomes part of the material, retaining its look and texture.

Infinium is not a transfer medium, a paper or a film. You print directly to it in reverse and apply it to the substrate using heat, water or a primer (LexJet Infinium Bond), depending on whether it’s meant to be a temporary or permanent graphic.

The first generation of LexJet Infinium is compatible with solvent, low solvent, latex and UV curable printers. It is available in gloss and matte finishes in roll widths ranging from 25 inches to 54 inches wide.

In the video below, see how Infinium is applied and conforms to a flat piece of finished leather and a piece of leather mounted to cardboard with a thermal laminator. LexJet Launches the Industry’s First Fully Transportable Graphic

Conformable graphic material for promotional and decorative applicationsLexJet has introduced the industry’s first fully transportable graphic, Infinium, a print medium with laminate and adhesive built into one conformable material. LexJet Infinium – which is compatible with low-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable printers – can be applied to virtually any surface, including irregular surfaces and curves, using heat, water or a primer (LexJet Infinium Bond).

“Fully transportable means that, with Infinium, you can print the same material with the same image on the same printer for use in multiple applications,” says Jeff Leto, LexJet product manager. “This conformable material gives you the ability to take the graphic anywhere you want onto virtually any substrate and image it.”

LexJet Infinium, which is printed in reverse and applied to the substrate with water, heat or a primer, is compatible with low-solvent, solvent, latex and UV-curable printers.

Infinium is not a paper, it’s not a film and it’s not a transfer material. It’s a clear material you reverse print and apply face down on the substrate with either water, heat or a primer, depending on the application and whether it’s a temporary or permanent graphic. Click here to see how it works at LexJet’s YouTube channel.

“There is a lot of potential with this product, because in the past you had to print to a substrate, laminate it and apply it, and you sometimes had to use a number of different substrates for one project. With Infinium, it’s one step, one material and one process,” says David Kurniawan, owner of Maryland Signs and Graphics in Towson, Md., who runs Infinium on his HP L25500 latex printer. “We can use it on all types of substrates and surfaces, including rough surfaces, which helps us use fewer materials for a lot of different applications.”

Applying graphics to rocks, tiles and ceramics
Yes, you can even customize rocks with Infinium, which essentially becomes part of and takes on the characteristics of the material to which you apply it. Check out how it works at the link provided in this article.

Manufactured with water-based chemistries, LexJet Infinium is a sustainable material that has no VOCs and is PVC-free. And, since it includes print, adhesive and laminate qualities in one material it reduces waste and production steps. LexJet Infinium is compatible with most commonly used post-print processes, including laser cutting, routing and thermoforming without distorting the graphic.

LexJet Infinium is available in Gloss and Matte versions in 25”, 36”, 42”, 50” and 54” widths and 75-foot  roll lengths. Like all LexJet products it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee and super-fast, $9.99 flat rate shipping from LexJet’s nationwide network of distribution centers. LexJet’s New Sales & Application Guides Help Imaging Professionals Sell More

Sales and application guides for wide format inkjet printing and imagingPrint shops and other imaging professionals looking for an effective sales tool that shows, tells and sells their wide-format printing output now have LexJet’s Large Format Graphics Sales & Application Guides to help seal the deal on the spot with their customers.

The new Sales & Application Guides are hard-bound, three-ring binder media product books. One guide details more than 50 aqueous inkjet media compatible with the latest printers from Canon, Epson and HP. The other guide includes more than 50 inkjet media compatible with solvent, low-solvent, UV-curable and latex printers. Both guides include about a dozen media-laminate combinations as well.

“The Sales & Application Guides serve a dual purpose. Most importantly, they allow print shop salespeople to show their customers the actual inkjet materials and all the creative options at their disposal for any application they can imagine, including those they didn’t realize were even possible,” says Rick Nerenhausen, LexJet’s director of sales. “It’s also a great educational tool for everyone in the print shop, from sales and purchasing to production.”

The Sales & Applications Guides include sheets of banner materials, display films, vinyl media, fine art and photo papers, wall coverings, complete trade show and point of purchase solutions, and various laminates.

Each product includes a brief description, as well as features, applications and technical details. One half of the media is printed and the other is blank so customers can see how colors reproduce on each material and the texture, surface properties and base color of the material before it’s printed.

Supplies are limited, so to purchase a LexJet Sales & Application Guide (Aqueous and SUV), contact a LexJet account specialist at 800-453-9538. Like all LexJet products, the Large Format Graphics Sales & Application Guides come with a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee, $9.99 flat rate shipping anywhere in the U.S. and Canada and fast delivery from one of LexJet’s 15 nationwide distribution centers.

Wall Murals and Decals Made Simple with Simple WallCal

Printing custom wall murals and decalsFollowing the recent introduction of Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30), LexJet announces the latest addition to its Simple line of imaging materials for solvent, low-solvent, latex and UV-curable printers: LexJet Simple WallCal (6 Mil).

With Simple WallCal in your media arsenal you can enhance any home, retail or commercial environment with one-of-a-kind custom wall murals and cut-out decals without the added expense of professional installers. Simple WallCal is very easy to install, thanks to the innovative microsphere adhesive that allows the material to be repositioned frequently during installation.

Simple WallCal is removable for up to one year after installation, making it the ideal choice for wall murals and graphics that will be replaced at least once a year. When removed within a year’s time, Simple WallCal will peel right off without damaging the wall or leaving any residue.

With a 6-mil thickness and a lay-flat liner, the semi-rigid premium matte vinyl is also easy to work with in production and will not curl, either in production, during installation or while it’s on the wall. Like all LexJet Simple materials, Simple WallCal images exceptionally well and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Windows Made Simple with Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30)

LexJet has just introduced Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30) to complement its Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (60/40) offering. The 70/30 offers more print area for that extra punch at retail; 60/40 is best for applications – like vehicle windows – that require more visibility looking out the window.

Using window graphics for advertisingSimple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30) is a 6-mil perforated vinyl designed to stop people in their tracks outside a store and lure them inside. Once inside, shoppers can see outside, and see quite well since the vinyl also cuts down on sunshine glare.

The two-layer perforated liner allows trouble-free printing for shops with UV-curable printers. “We printed some large panels and with UV-curable printing we have to make sure that your ink stays on the liner and doesn’t come off and fill the hole. It’s an issue we’ve had with other similar products, but we haven’t seen it at all on this product,” says Ricky Shannon, operations manager for Keith Fabry Inc., Richmond, Va.

Designed to be exterior-mounted to windows, Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30), is easy to handle and easy to print, install and remove. “It’s fairly low-tack when you apply it, but it becomes fairly aggressive so that it stays on the window. Then, when we peeled it back to remove it there was no residue so it works very well from installation to removal,” adds Shannon.

Use LexJet’s Optically Clear Cast Laminate or LexJet Gloss Polyester Laminate (2 Mil) for additional protection, if needed. A nice bonus is that the laminates not only protect, but will not interfere with the clarity of the image or the inside-outside view.

Simple Perforated Window Vinyl (70/30) is compatible with solvent, low-solvent, UV-curable and latex printers, and is available in 60″ x 100′ and 60″ x 20′ rolls. To find out more, and to find the right material for the application, contact a LexJet customer specialist at 800-453-9538.
