The Art of the Exhibit: Using Fabrics to Bring a Legend to Life

When the Orange County Regional History Center was tasked with producing an exhibit showcasing the work of sculptor Albin Polasek, exhibit lead Paul Trembly took on the challenge as an opportunity to experiment with new materials.

IMG_0163The Orlando, Fla.-based center had recently purchased an HP Latex 360 printer from LexJet, and for this project, Trembly was going for a softer look for the seven 4-foot-by-8-foot banners he had planned.

“We decided on the latex printer because it opened up a wider range of substrates for us to work with,” Trembly says when he needed to replace his aging HP DesignJet printer. “You don’t purchase a printer more than every 10 years, and long-term, we knew we’d be better off with being able to print varying types of substrates. It was pretty much a no-brainer.”
