LexJet is pleased to announce the winners of the Shine On! Print Contest for images output on LexJet’s new Sunset Photo Metallic paper for professional inkjet photo printing.
Ryan Joseph, of R. Joseph Photographics in Tampa, FL, won the Best of Show Award and a 24-in. Canon iPF6300 printer for his entry entitled America? Joseph also won an Apple iPad as the First-Place Winner in the Wedding/Portrait category of the contest.
When LexJet account specialist Michael Clementi shared the good news, Ryan Joseph was excited, noting that “This is the first competition I’ve ever won! I’m so glad it was with LexJet. I love the new Sunset Photo Metallic paper!

Gary Haines of Grizzly Creek Gallery won First Place in the Nature/Landscape/Fine Art category for his image entitled Winter Serenity. Anne Smyth won the First Place Award in the Open Category for her image entitled Ball in Wire. Anne Smyth’s image was printed by Giclée of New England. Gary Haines and Anne Smyth will each receive an Apple iPad.

All of the award winners are listed below. Each of the Second Place winners will receive a $250 LexJet gift certificate; each Third Place winner receives a $150 LexJet gift certificate; and each Fourth Place winner will get a $100 LexJet gift certificate.
“This was the first time LexJet had ever conducted a competition of this kind. We want to thank everyone who entered,” said contest coordinator Sean McGettigan. “The Shine On! print contest was a huge hit. We received more than 500 images from 180 contestants.”
The images will be displayed at LexJet headquarters where they will inspire the staff and be viewed by the many photo-industry manufacturers, influencers, and partners who visit our offices each week.
“It is amazing to see the many ways photo prints can be creatively enhanced by the subtle luminosity of Sunset Photo Metallic Paper,” says LexJet product manager Alex Ried. “Everyone who entered will be receiving a thank-you gift from LexJet.”
We also want to thank the talented professional photographers who spent a full day at LexJet headquarters judging the entries in a specially constructed viewing booth. The judging panel was led by Carmen Schettino, and included Alfred Gordon, Charles Neubauer, and Gloria Pearse. All of the judges have earned the Master of Photography degree from Professional Photographers of America and were experienced in judging print competitions.
Schettino agrees that the number and quality of entries in this first-of-its-kind contest were impressive, noting that as a judge, “It was tough to make decisions. Sometimes the decisions came down to some very minor details.” He regards the success of the Shine On! print contest as evidence of the high level of rapport the LexJet account specialists have established with their customers.
Congratulations to all of the winners listed below. You can read more about them in future posts on this blog.
