Introducing: LexJet’s Expanded WallPro by York Line

At LexJet, we keep an eye on emerging trends, and we’ve certainly noticed the buzz that’s been building for digital wallcoverings over the past few years. The ability to pair personalized images or graphics with modern wallcoverings that can be printed, easily installed, repositioned, and removed, is revolutionizing both the décor and wide-format printing industries.

LexJet and York Partner at ISA Sign Expo

The International Sign Association (ISA) Sign Expo took place last weekend in Las Vegas, and LexJet partnered with York Wallcoverings to man a booth showing off the latest inkjet-printable wallcovering offerings.

ISA’s International Sign Expo draws more than 580 international companies who present their wares to more than 21,000 show attendees every year. This year, LexJet and York featured about 20 substrates. Some of the clear favorites, says Wade Neff, director of digital at York Wallcoverings, were those with gold and silver finishes. He attributes that, in part, to more people with latex printers that can handle those substrates.

“Clearly there were a lot of people with new latex printers,” Neff says. “They’re looking to diversify their offerings beyond the pressure-sensitive product offerings. They’re looking for a variety of colors and finishes – from pearl to silver and gold and reflective mylar.”

The silver and gold surfaces, highlighted in the center image in the LexJet-York booth, was definitely an eye catcher to passersby. And while there was a lot of interest about the wide variety of digital wallcovering options, the attendees were also eager for knowledge, says LexJet’s Carey Masera.

“We ran into all these people with the latest latex printers, but who had a very basic idea of what to do with them,” Masera says. “And they didn’t really know much about wallcoverings: how to sell them and where to sell them.

“We have the opportunity to be in the forefront of all of this. The technology was there, but they don’t know a lot about it. So we can take on the role of educator.”

LexJet is York’s exclusive distributor to the signage industry in the U.S., Neff says. “We’ve worked with LexJet for years as both a vendor and supplier,” he says. “Clearly LexJet is a market leader when it comes to distribution to the signage channel. We really like the growth that LexJet has been on for the last several years. And they’re great guys who are passionate about servicing their customers.”

The LexJet-York partnership helps to expand LexJet’s offerings to its customers, says LexJet’s Vincent Bejar. “York has a much more diverse selection of decorative wall papers, in addition to the bright whites with different textures that are higher-end artistic options,” Bejar says.
