When it comes to high-end finishes and consistent printability, we turn to the experts at Vescom, the world’s largest wallcovering manufacturing company. Here are five reasons why:

  1. Unique Textures – Vescom offers a number of finishes to add to the customized offering you present to your customers. Textures like award-winning Metallic Sand, Pearl Linen with its satin sheen, rich and unique Leather and super-soft Felt will enhance any room design, from casually modern to traditionally formal.
  2. Standard Top Coating – A common problem, plasticizer migration, is caused by chemical reactions in the vinyl that print inconsistencies and color changes. The competition has only one coating on their media, making it more susceptible to these occurrences. Vescom features a second coating standard on the entire portfolio.
  3. Pre-shrinking – Most wallcoverings are stretched before being applied to the backing to maximize product yields, this causes an unstable product that can curl or shrink causing printhead strikes or inconsistent panel lengths. Vescom pre-shrinks its material before attaching it to the backing creating a stable product with no curling.
  4. Sustainable – Vinyl wallcovering emits VOC over the course of its lifetime. Vescom wallcovering is a phthalate-free substrate and meets EPA requirements for low-VOC emitting products and is Class A fire-resistant.
  5. Made in the USA – Domestic manufacturing has a huge impact on communities and the economy. Vescom operates around the world and has manufacturing facilities in Europe and in the USA!

Trend Alert: Touchy-Feely Textured Wallcoverings

This new wallcovering trend is hitting us right in the feels, and Vescom is answering the call with a variety of high-end, quality finishes with their digitally printable wallcoverings.

Textured wallcoverings are gaining popularity not simply because they offer a tactile experience, but because they can also add richness with that texture, along with color choices and strategic printing that can be completely customized. Linen finishes printed with natural colors and designs can bring an outdoorsy feeling inside, while a metallic-finish paired with Art Deco-type graphic designs will add modern shine to a room.

Embossments, embellishments and even metallic threads sewn into the wallcovering can really transform a room where visitors won’t be able to keep their hands to themselves.

Plus, wallcoverings with textured finishes can actually help mask imperfections in the wall’s plaster or drywall, while providing some additional protection for the wall, as well.

Vescom’s popular textured finishes include:

Top 5 Wallcovering Trends for Digital Print Providers

By now, you’ve likely looked into adding décor printing into the offerings you provide your customers. And wallcovering is a vital link in that chain. You’ve got lots of products to choose from, including the HP Latex-certified Vescom Wallcoverings, available from LexJet.

Vescom is known for its consistency and elegant finishes, plus installers prefer this Type-II-certified vinyl media, which has a non-woven backing that makes installation using standard techniques a breeze.

We asked our friends at Vescom for some tips on how wallcovering trends are evolving this year. Here are five of the top digital wallcovering trends they’re seeing for 2019:

  1. THE 5th WALL

Not satisfied with just decorating four walls, designers are increasingly covering the ceiling of a room to bring in the “other” wall as part of a more visually unified space and one that will stand out among the crowd. Vescom Matte has a non-woven backing that installs easily with common adhesives and installation techniques.

  1. FLORALS

Florals have made a comeback, but forget your grandmother’s wallpaper, today’s florals are more sophisticated and dramatic with a nature-themed feel done in a modern aesthetic. Vescom Tabby adds a soft warmth to a floral design.

  1. METALLIC

Go Hollywood with metallic wallpaper that adds an element of luxury and glamour. Vescom Metallic Sand provides a subtle shimmer for an ultra-modern look.

  1. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S WALLPAPER

Faux finishes continue to be the rage, from brick and stone to bamboo and grass, digitally printed wallpaper lets you create an artificial pattern without the cost and hassle of the actual material. Vescom Polster is a natural texture that emulates materials such as stucco, brick or stone.

  1. ROOM WITH A VIEW

A large-format photo mural makes a stunning statement, creates a visual escape and is perfect for windowless spaces, conference rooms and lobbies. Vescom Matte has a smooth surface and prints high-resolution photos and imagery.

Give Custom Walls Personality with the Right Wallcovering Product

Gone are the days of choosing from a few wallpaper options that may – or may not – match your style and personality. Creating custom artwork for your home or office is one of the new trends for wall décor. From kids’ rooms to board rooms, we’ve rounded up a variety of solutions that are tailor-made for you.

Check out some of the ways our customers added personality and life to their wall mural projects:

Wall Murals That Go with the Flo: If you are doing a project that will be displayed for a few months or several years, LexJet Simple Flo Wrap Vinyl, with its air-egress liner and repositionable adhesive, makes installation a breeze. When John Toth from Triad Creative Group was tasked with bringing the past to the present, he opted for Simple Flo – laminated with LexJet Simple Flo Wrap Gloss UV Laminate (2.4 Mil). For this project, some of the murals were displayed on different substrates, including primed MDF and Sintra, while others were applied directly to the display walls. Toth knew that the applications would be bubble-free due to the air-egress liner and that the repositionable adhesive would allow him to fix any misaligned panels during installation. The wide color gamut of the Simple Flo contributed to the authenticity of the project by bringing out subtle nuances in the historical images.
