The P20000: Epson’s Newest Photographic Printer

Early this year, Epson announced the all-new SureColor P20000, which replaced the Epson Stylus Pro 11880. The new printer, designed for high-volume photo and fine-art production, is the latest in the SureColor line.

The aqueous printer is equipped with newly developed inks — the Epson UltraChrome PRO nine-color ink set, with four levels of grey for less grain noise as well as excellent transitions and blends at high production speed printing. The added greys reduce bronzing and deliver exceptional black-and-white printing. Also, the black pigments are 1.5 times denser than previous inks and the set includes the newest generation of yellow pigment technology.

In addition to the new inks, the P20000 has the all-new 2.6-inch wide Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP print head, with extreme dot placement accuracy and the capability to print up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi resolution.

The advanced media handling system allows the P20000 to handle both roll media with 2- or 3-inch cores as well as cut sheet media, making it the ideal photo printer for media from 17-inches to 64-inches wide. The P20000 can even handle poster board substrates up to 1.5mm thick. You can also purchase an option automatic take-up reel system for unattended printing.
