LexJet Reviews: Sustainable Programs and Products

Just in time for Earth Day, C.J. Forker returns for a new edition of LexJet Reviews focusing on sustainable products and programs. From media with special certifications to recycling programs, these options will help you start seeing green.

Media Solutions:

LexJet Print-n-Stick Fabric – A popular choice for those DIY projects to high-end wall décor, this low-tack, self-adhesive fabric is not only PVC-free, but also free of other harmful chemicals which means fewer emissions, less harmful waste, and a better solution for the environment.

ChromaLuxe – Proudly made in America, nearly every part of the ChromaLuxe manufacturing process – from the factory itself to the coating; from the fiberboard to the panels – is considered sustainable. The company also has a commitment to recycling, which means less waste and fewer harmful emissions.

HP PVC-free Durable Smooth and Durable Suede Wall Papers – These wallcoverings are popular for designers looking to create colorful murals while capturing high-definition details. Because both are UL Greenguard Gold certified – they produce much lower levels of emissions – they are safe for sensitive environments like hospitals and schools. Additionally, HP PVC-Free Durable Smooth Wallpaper is FSC-certified, which means it is responsibly harvested timber that is selectively cut, rather than from industrialists who clear-cut forests.

HP 15-oz Prime Double-sided Blockout Banner and 18-oz Prime Double-sided Pole Banner – The perfect solutions for long-lasting indoor displays or applications that will be displayed in demanding outdoor conditions are these two newest banners available from LexJet. These durable banners offer an opaque blockout layer for double-sided printing. Both are REACH and Prop 65 compliant, which means there are no harmful emissions.

Sustainable Programs:

LexJet Ink Cartridge Recycling – The new ink cartridge recycling program is easy. Simply go to the resource page and fill out the information. Download the prepaid shipping labels and schedule a UPS pickup. It’s as simple as that. All OEM brands and sizes are accepted, from wide format to desktop. Right now, we are not accepting toner tubes, toner bottles, or generic cartridges New research shows 375-million ink cartridges are thrown away every year and this new program gives customers an alternative so the cartridges don’t end up in a landfill.

HP Take-back Program – This long-running program aims to cut down on waste and put those raw materials to good use. Since 1987, when the program began, HP has recovered over 2.3 billion pounds. To read more about HP’s sustainable impact, you can see a full report HERE. This simple and environmentally sound take-back program offers consumers and business customers the ability to return and recycle any brand of computing hardware as well as many HP media products.
