HP Designjet L26500HP just released firmware version 9.0.0.2 for the HP Designjet L26500. The firmware update is now available for download at www.hp.com/go/L26500/support is strongly recommended.

The new firmware update optimizes the Carriage Rail Cleaning & Lubrication triggers to help keep the printer maintained and running optimally. Some newly-installed printers have seen 87:02 lubrication warnings shortly after installation, but with the firmware update these warnings will be avoided.

After the firmware has been upgraded:

  • If coming from version 5 or below, the printer will start to display requests for printer maintenance when needed, depending on the printer’s usage and/or your workflow
  • If coming from version 6 or 8, the printer will continue to display requests for printer maintenance when needed, depending on the printer’s usage and/or your workflow.

It is very important to carry out Cleaning & Lubrication when triggered. For more information on the procedure you can check the following video: www.hp.com/go/L2Series/CarriageRailMaintenance_video

HP Z6100 Firmware Update Provides Vacuum Control for Slipping Substrates

Firmware updates for HP large format inkjet printersSome media types like to slip slide away as you print. Fabrics are particularly guilty of this slipping offense. To help with those troublesome textiles, and any other media printed on the HP Designjet Z6100, HP has a firmware update that fixes this issue.

The update allows you to modify the amount of vacuum applied to various media, and for both thick and thin materials, you can adjust the loading vacuum level. So, for fabrics like LexJet Water-Resistant Satin Cloth and the Poly Select line of fabrics, the extra control makes it easier to keep them in line.
