Join Us as LexJet Celebrates America Recycles Day

Today is the 24th anniversary of America Recycles Day (aka National Recycling Day). While recycling has been around since Victorian England – if not longer – it wasn’t until Nov. 15, 1997, that the official holiday was created.

According to the EPA, recycling efforts have increased from 6% in 1960 to 32% as recently as 2018. So, the process is working, but there’s still a long way to go.

While recycling has increased over the years, ink cartridges are still tossed in the trash, destined to end up in landfills across the country. 375-million ink cartridges per year are thrown away rather than recycled. That’s 1,000,000 a day; 11 cartridges per second1.

To help combat the staggering statistics, LexJet made a small gesture, hoping to spark a big change: the Inkjet Recycling Program.

Participating in the program, introduced earlier this year on Earth Day, is as easy as 1-2-3, once you have your box of OEM cartridges (20 lb. minimum):

1) Fill out the information
2) Download the prepaid labels
3) Schedule a UPS pick-up

Arrangements can be made for pallet shipping if you have more than 100 cartridges.

All OEM brands and sizes are accepted, from wide format to desktop. At this time, we cannot take toner tubes, toner bottles, or generic cartridges.

In addition to encouraging recycling, LexJet offers products manufactured with recycled materials. Elements Andes Recycled Satin Canvas SUV has a polyester resin made 100% from recycled water bottles.
