Cataloging in Lightroom: Organizing Your Images for Travel, presented by Marc Muench, 1 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Aug. 27: X-Rite Coloratti Marc Muench has been organizing image libraries containing millions of image files for over 20 years. He is a third generation landscape photographer with vast experience in not only creating imagery for hundreds of companies but also in organizing the images for the clients. He now teaches his organizational techniques in many of his photography workshops. In this webinar, Marc will teach some of the basics that have helped him manage his images, in addition to illustrating his technique for managing a single Master Catalog in Adobe Lightroom. His method allows for the use of a second computer or travel computer to be used with a temporary catalog during shoots, emphasizing the importance of using calibrated and profiled monitors in all environments for accurate viewing and image evaluation. Marc will demonstrate how to import images by utilizing custom “Develop Settings” containing camera profiles made with ColorChecker Passport. Digital Art Creation Magazine App Now at iTunes

Magazine for digital art and productionAs noted earlier in July here at the LexJet Blog, Digital Art Creation magazine premiered as a digital publication and is now available optimized for the iPad at Apple’s iTunes store. The app is free and a monthly subscription is $3.99.

However, you can access the July issue for free by using the code: issue1_preview. To use the code, click on this link, then click on subscribe>current subscribers and put the code in the window. A free read-only text version is also available at the website.

Published monthly, Digital Art Creation focuses on photography techniques, post capture software and techniques, printing and post-printing ideas, and an exploration of a variety of other techniques and platforms.

The August issue is expected to be ready around Aug. 15 and will be available at both iTunes and the Digital Art Creation website. Here’s a preview of the subjects that will be covered in the August issue:

Inkjet printer rebateHP announced the Upgrade to Latex Summer Promotion on its Designjet L28500 Latex Printer (104 inches), which starts today and ends on Aug. 31. Get a $10,000 cash back mail-in rebate if you currently own an eligible 54-inch or greater aqueous or solvent printer and $6,000 back if you own an eligible 42-inch to 53-inch aqueous or solvent printer.

To submit a claim, go to www.hp.com/go/upgradetolatex. Once there, you’ll need to provide the following…

  • Fax, email or send via US mail proof of purchase of HP Designjet L28500 printer with serial number on invoice and a photo of current eligible printer showing nameplate with model and serial number
  • Return the Main Print Controller board from eligible printer. HP will arrange for the pick-up and pay for the return shipping. Shipping instructions are provided with the claim submittal confirmation email

Rebates on fine art papersHahnemuhle announced today a summer rebate program on some its most popular Digital FineArt papers: PhotoRag 308, PhotoRag Bright White, FineArt Pearl, Baryta FB and Torchon.
