ORAJET® and ORAGUARD®: Built for Long-Term Vehicle Wraps

Why Matching Film and Laminate Matters

The success of a vehicle wrap isn't measured on installation day. It's measured months and years later, after exposure to sunlight, weather, road conditions, and daily use.

For graphics expected to perform long-term, material selection plays a major role in how well they hold up over time. That includes both the print film and the laminate protecting it. Together, they form a graphic system built to withstand the demands of the application.

Why Film Construction Matters

For short-term graphics on flat surfaces, calendered films can be an excellent solution. However, when graphics need to conform to curves, rivets, channels, and complex vehicle surfaces, cast films are often the preferred choice.

Cast films are manufactured differently from calendered films, allowing them to remain dimensionally stable and resist shrinkage over time.

This makes them ideal for:

    • Vehicle wraps
    • Fleet graphics
    • Boat wraps
    • Architectural wraps
    • Long-term outdoor graphics

A Wrap Film Built for Complex Surfaces

For projects requiring maximum conformability, ORAJET® 3751RA+ ProSlide Premium Wrapping Cast was developed specifically for wrapping applications.

Features include:

    • Cast construction for complex curves and contours
    • RapidAir® technology for easier installation
    • ProSlide technology for repositionability during installation
    • Long-term outdoor durability

For installers, these features can help simplify installation while maintaining graphic integrity longer.

Why the Laminate Matters Too

One of the most common mistakes in wrap production is focusing only on the film. The laminate may seem like a protective top layer, but on a vehicle wrap, it becomes part of the overall graphic system.

The laminate experiences many of the same stresses as the film itself, including stretching, weather exposure, temperature changes, and daily wear.

When a cast film is paired with a laminate that stretches, shrinks, or ages differently, performance can be affected over time. That’s why many wrap professionals choose a cast laminate when using a cast wrap film.

A Cast Laminate Designed to Match

ORAGUARD® 294 Premium Cast Overlaminate was developed to pair with premium cast wrap films. It provides long-term outdoor durability, UV and abrasion protection, and a cast construction that matches the performance characteristics of cast wrap films.

By pairing a cast film with a cast laminate, installers can help ensure the entire graphic system performs consistently over the life of the wrap.

Built to Perform Together

Film selection, laminate selection, installation, and application environment all contribute to long-term performance.

For vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, boat wraps, and other demanding outdoor applications, pairing ORAJET® 3751RA+ ProSlide Premium Wrapping Cast with ORAGUARD® 294 Premium Cast Overlaminate helps create a graphic system built for long-term outdoor performance.
