Catching the Game in Style at OKC’s Chesapeake Arena

Red River Photo Services in Oklahoma City, led by Leighton and Katrina Kirkpatrick, is not one to back down from a big job. So when MidFirst Bank requested 34 face-mounted images in its founders’ lounges in Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the crew at Red River set into action.

“This is the largest project we’ve done like this,” Leighton Kirkpatrick says. “We were contracted to do 34 images mounted on 3/8-inch plexiglass acrylic, ranging from 4-by-8 inches to 6-by-4 feet.”

The variety of images from Thunder games were printed on LexJet Sunset Photo eSatin Paper 300g, coated with a laminate and face-mounted in a Mondrian-like pattern across a wall in the lounges.

“The eSatin is our standard go-to for most photography,” says Kirkpatrick, a 10-year LexJet customer. “It has great color saturation and prints really good black-and-whites. Plus, for face-mounts, it works really well with the plexiglass. It’s a substantial paper with a nice weight to it.”

The MidFirst team was impressed with the finished look, he says. “Everybody who has seen it loves it.”

Red River specializes in a wide variety of wide-format projects, including 88-by-60-inch stretched canvases hanging 20 feet in the air at Bob Moore Auto Group, pictured below, and many art installations in businesses and restaurants around Oklahoma City.

  1. Hi Shellie,

Nice post! We’ve been using your Lexjet Sunset Metallic paper with our acrylic prints face mounting process from Day 1 (we’re in our 7th year!). Our customers love it and it would be great to discuss with you a case study for the blog! You can see what we do at
