$10,000 in Cash and Prizes in Health-Focused Photo Competition

Photo District News (PDN) and BD, a medical technology company, announced the Hope for a Healthy World Photo Competition. The entry deadline for this health-related photo competition is March 9, and there is no entry fee.

PDNCategories include Best Global Health Story, with $5,000 in cash going to the winner, Best Global Health Image (winner gets $2,500) and Best Global Health Multimedia ($2,500). All winners receive a PhotoServe Portfolio ($860 value), a one-year subscription to PDN, a 2012 PDN PhotoPlus Expo Gold Expo Pass, and all-access Big Love Pass to the 2012 LOOK3 Festival.

Judges include David Griffin, visuals editor, The Washington Post; Jon Jones, photo editor, Sunday Times Magazine, UK; Laara Matsen, photo editor, D2 Magazine; Kira Pollack, director of photography, TIME Magazine; and Marcel Saba, director, Redux Pictures.

All of the winners’ work will become part of Hope for a Healthy World Photo Exhibition, a traveling debut at LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, Va., June 7-9, and will be placed in the contest gallery hosted on PDNonline.com and represented in the PDN Photo Annual, June 2012.
