The added greys also reduce bronzing while the 1.5 times denser black pigments deliver exceptional black-and-white printing. Plus, the new, advanced media handling system can handle a variety of substrates, like 1.5mm thick poster board. An automatic take-up reel is also available.

With S-Series, Epson Delivers “Fastest Solvent Printers Out There”

While some in the industry may have typically used Epson printers for photographic, graphic arts and proofing needs, the introduction of the new SureColor S-Series machines have started to shift how people think of Epson in the signage printer realm.

“You can print non-stop, two to three times the speed you would normally print in comparison to prior generations or even other technologies,” says LexJet’s tech expert Michael Clementi. “Right now, these are the fastest solvent printers out there.”

The video above, produced by Epson, explains how the new Epson SureColor S40600, Epson SureColor S60600 and Epson SureColor S80600 64-inch solvent printers are geared to provide a wide variety of solutions, with the ability to print adhesive vinyl, banners, canvas, stickers, labels, package proofing and backlit.

“And not only have they sped up production, but they’ve increased the quality of the print as well, with the new ink formulas and printheads,” Clementi says.

The P20000: Epson’s Newest Photographic Printer

Early this year, Epson announced the all-new SureColor P20000, which replaced the Epson Stylus Pro 11880. The new printer, designed for high-volume photo and fine-art production, is the latest in the SureColor line.

The aqueous printer is equipped with newly developed inks — the Epson UltraChrome PRO nine-color ink set, with four levels of grey for less grain noise as well as excellent transitions and blends at high production speed printing. The added greys reduce bronzing and deliver exceptional black-and-white printing. Also, the black pigments are 1.5 times denser than previous inks and the set includes the newest generation of yellow pigment technology.

In addition to the new inks, the P20000 has the all-new 2.6-inch wide Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP print head, with extreme dot placement accuracy and the capability to print up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi resolution.

The advanced media handling system allows the P20000 to handle both roll media with 2- or 3-inch cores as well as cut sheet media, making it the ideal photo printer for media from 17-inches to 64-inches wide. The P20000 can even handle poster board substrates up to 1.5mm thick. You can also purchase an option automatic take-up reel system for unattended printing.
